Initially, the mill produced only sugar for export. In 1984, equipment was installed for drying and packaging brown sugar for the domestic market, and in 1986, it began producing unrefined white sugar. In 1999, in line with the government's privatization policy, the La Victoria Sugar Mill was transferred to private hands under the name Central Azucarero La Victoria S.A., and held its first sugar harvest.¶Subsequently, a series of investments were made in the factory, fields, packaging, equipment, and maintenance workshops, making the sugarcane manufacturing process more efficient and ensuring product quality.
